Frequently asked questions
Will any red light work?
No. Most red lights you find don't list the exact wavelength, and many of them flicker. Ours uses NeuroSafe™ technology: our own 660nm, zero-flicker calibration, made so a baby's brain doesn't read it as daytime. You won't find that on a marketplace shelf.
Can it hurt my baby's eyes?
No. Red light at 660 nanometers is plain visible light. No UV, no blue light. There's no known eye risk, and you can use it from day one.
Can I leave it on all night?
Yes. It has a 50-hour battery and gives off no heat. It works great as a steady night light. In fact, it helps your baby tell day from night.
How soon will I see a difference?
The first night. This isn't a supplement that builds up over time. It's physics. You change the signal that reaches your baby's brain from the very first use.
What age is it for?
From birth. A baby's body clock reacts to light from the very first weeks. The sooner you use it, the more you protect their sleep as it develops.
What about me? Does it protect my sleep too?
Yes. White light cuts your sleep hormone the same way it cuts your baby's. When you use the ZZ Labs light to tend to them at night, you protect your own sleep too. That's why you both fall back asleep more easily.
Is it bright enough to change a diaper?
It gives enough light to see clearly in a dark room, without the glare. It's not a reading light, it's a nighttime light. Enough to change a diaper, feed, and check on your baby without turning on the main light.

Real families, real nights
Watch parents who finally got their sleep back.
Every time you turn on the light, your baby can't fall back asleep.
Your baby doesn't have a sleep problem.
When they wake for a feed or a diaper change, their body still has melatonin flowing. Melatonin is the hormone that keeps them in sleep mode, the one that lets them drift back off on their own.
Then you turn on the light.
Their eyes pick up that light and send an urgent message to the brain: the sun is up. It's daytime. Time to get going.
In 30 seconds, their body wipes out almost all that melatonin. Like they never started falling asleep.
It isn't your baby.
It's the light in the room, sending the wrong signal every time you switch it on.
Why red light?
Look closely at your baby's eyes
What light does inside the eye decides whether the brain goes into night mode, or stays on alert.
Your light flips on their alert system
30 seconds of that light is enough to reset their sleep completely. And there's nothing you can do about it.
Red light protects their rest
With red light, their eyes pick up no signal. The brain stays in night mode. Melatonin keeps flowing.
