Frequently asked questions
Will any red light work?

No. Most red lights you find don't list the exact wavelength, and many of them flicker. Ours uses NeuroSafe™ technology: our own 660nm, zero-flicker calibration, made so a baby's brain doesn't read it as daytime. You won't find that on a marketplace shelf.

Can it hurt my baby's eyes?

No. Red light at 660 nanometers is plain visible light. No UV, no blue light. There's no known eye risk, and you can use it from day one.

Can I leave it on all night?

Yes. It has a 50-hour battery and gives off no heat. It works great as a steady night light. In fact, it helps your baby tell day from night.

How soon will I see a difference?

The first night. This isn't a supplement that builds up over time. It's physics. You change the signal that reaches your baby's brain from the very first use.

What age is it for?

From birth. A baby's body clock reacts to light from the very first weeks. The sooner you use it, the more you protect their sleep as it develops.

What about me? Does it protect my sleep too?

Yes. White light cuts your sleep hormone the same way it cuts your baby's. When you use the ZZ Labs light to tend to them at night, you protect your own sleep too. That's why you both fall back asleep more easily.

Is it bright enough to change a diaper?

It gives enough light to see clearly in a dark room, without the glare. It's not a reading light, it's a nighttime light. Enough to change a diaper, feed, and check on your baby without turning on the main light.

Real families, real nights

Watch parents who finally got their sleep back.

Every time you turn on the light, your baby can't fall back asleep.

Your baby doesn't have a sleep problem.

When they wake for a feed or a diaper change, their body still has melatonin flowing. Melatonin is the hormone that keeps them in sleep mode, the one that lets them drift back off on their own.

Then you turn on the light.

Their eyes pick up that light and send an urgent message to the brain: the sun is up. It's daytime. Time to get going.

In 30 seconds, their body wipes out almost all that melatonin. Like they never started falling asleep.

It isn't your baby.

It's the light in the room, sending the wrong signal every time you switch it on.

Look closely at your baby's eyes

What light does inside the eye decides whether the brain goes into night mode, or stays on alert.

The light you use now

Your light flips on their alert system

30 seconds of that light is enough to reset their sleep completely. And there's nothing you can do about it.

Red light protects their rest

With red light, their eyes pick up no signal. The brain stays in night mode. Melatonin keeps flowing.

“It worked the very first night”

We'd been struggling with the night wakings for months honestly. My husband got me this without me even asking, because we were out of ideas, waking up every hour and a half was killing us. The first night all three of us slept straight through, I couldn't believe it. I still don't really get the science behind it but it works. The light isn't harsh and my little one doesn't even stir when I come in to nurse her.

“Three weeks in and we're all sleeping better”

I was really skeptical about this, I'll admit it. My sister recommended it and I figured it was just another fad. But when you've gone 11 months without sleeping more than 3 hours in a row, you'll try anything. I bought it expecting nothing. Three weeks in and my son sleeps 6 to 7 hour nights. I don't know if it's a coincidence but there's no way I'm taking it off the nightstand.

    “Tried everything, this one worked”

I tried a bunch of methods, books, sleep apps, a consultant who charged me $280. The thing that's worked best is this little tap light. It's kind of sad to put it that way but it's the truth. The red light doesn't mess with his sleep the way regular light does. That's it. It came in 24 hours and setup was taking it out of the box and turning it on. 30 seconds.

    “Even my husband uses it”

My husband laughed at me at first for spending money on a tap light. Now he uses it too, so he doesn't wake me when he goes in to take care of the little one at night. The light has a nice warm tone, it actually looks nice in the room. Recommend it 1000%.

    “Worth paying a little more”

It took me a while to decide honestly, the price seemed a little steep at first for a tap light. But we were desperate, and after reading the science behind it (Harvard, Yale, etc.) and the guarantee they offer, I decided to try it. I don't regret it one bit. The difference from our regular light is huge, my husband noticed it even before I did. It's been in the baby's room 2 weeks and we all sleep better.

“No methods, no apps, straight to it”

I'm the kind of person who buys everything that pops up on insta thinking it'll fix all my problems, and I always regret it lol. This time I do NOT regret it. It's a tap light, that's it. No app, no 30-page manual, none of those $200 sleep methods. You tap it and you're done. We've had it 3 weeks and the difference is real, my baby doesn't wake up anymore when I come into the room in the middle of the night.

“It showed up the next day”

Shipping was super fast, it showed up the next day when I wasn't even expecting it. The light does exactly what it says. My 8 month old used to wake up every time we went into his room to check on him, it was exhausting. Now we can peek in without risking waking him, first time in months he actually sleeps well. 100% recommend, I already ordered another one for our room.

    “Customer service was flawless”

Customer service was honestly flawless. I reached out with a question about shipping and they got back to me in under an hour, amazing. The light is exactly what they say, soft red light that doesn't bother anyone. My 5 month old has been sleeping with it almost two weeks and the wakeups have dropped a ton. Nothing to lose by trying it, and in my case it was a win.
